Ahead of the Canadian Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc emphasized that he and his Ferrari team do not feel the need to prove their critics wrong, in response to recent criticism from Italian media outlets. Reports from Italy raised concerns about Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur’s position due to the team’s lackluster performance in the 2025 Formula 1 season. Despite a disappointing race in Montreal where he finished fifth, Leclerc remains focused on his own work and aims to improve for the upcoming races. He expressed readiness to bounce back and deliver better results in the next event. Leclerc’s frustrations during the race stemmed from strategic decisions, particularly the disagreement over a two-stop strategy that led to heated radio messages between him and the team. Vasseur acknowledged the strategy issues and stated that they had discussions with Leclerc post-race, emphasizing the need for a balance between taking risks and strategic decision-making.
